This road trip takes you south through Croatia, taking in many of the popular highlights in a short period of time. Begin in the capital city Zagreb before working your way down to the coast, the beautiful cities of Šibenik and Split, explore the islands of southern Dalmatia before ending your trip in Dubrovnik. Cruise through the breathtaking landscapes, taste one of the finest wines this region has to offer and enjoy in one of the best meals.

Croatia's extraordinary island-speckled coastline and clarity of its waters are indisputably Croatia's main attraction. 

Historic cities and unspoilt nature are also among the top things people seek to explore while visiting Croatia. The vibrant capital city of Zagreb is home to some of the country's best museums, galleries, restaurants, and shopping. Along the coast, centuries-old harbor towns are packed with Venetian-era stone buildings, while countless pebble beaches offer things to do such as scuba diving, water skiing, and windsurfing. 

On the Adriatic, Croatia's blissful islands are a haven for yachters and those wanting to simply relax and enjoy the Mediterranean sunshine. Sharing food and drink plays a big part in the culture here, so expect some authentic local food delights along the way.

Day-by-day itinerary

DAY 1

Arrival in Zagreb

Upon your arrival at Zagreb airport, you will be picked up and taken to your accommodation. Once you've settled in, take some time to relax and freshen up. Later, enjoy a leisurely walk around Zagreb. The Croatian capital offers a blend of Central European charm and Mediterranean relaxation, featuring the Baroque atmosphere of the Upper Town, picturesque open markets, green parks, promenades, superb culinary delights, and an exciting nightlife. Overnight in Zagreb.

DAY 2

From Zagreb to Split through Plitvice Lakes National Park

After a buffet breakfast at the hotel and check-out, pick up your rental car and depart for Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is renowned for its 16 crystal turquoise lakes, interconnected by cascades and deep falls, nestled in a landscape of wooded mountains. Enjoy a sightseeing walking tour, including a boat ride, to experience the park's spectacular lakes and waterfalls. Lunch at a local restaurant will feature a delicious array of local specialties. After visiting the park, continue towards Split, return the car, and spend the night in Split.

DAY 3

Brač Island From Split Tour

After breakfast, meet your guide at the designated location for a full-day visit to Brač Island. The ferry journey offers breathtaking views of the mountains, Split, and Brač Island. On this tour, explore Brač in a vintage Land Rover, visit the olive oil museum in Skript for tastings, and see a local stone quarry. Enjoy lunch at a local vineyard near Bol and visit the famous Zlatni Rat beach, where you can swim if you like. Visit Vidova Gora for spectacular views across the Adriatic Sea to Hvar. Return to Supetar for the ferry back to Split. Overnight in Split.

DAY 4

Ferry from Split to Hvar

After an easy morning in Split, catch the ferry to the island of Hvar and check into your hotel. Hvar is known for its natural beauty, mild climate, and historic port town. Highlights of Hvar Town include its 13th-century walls, a hilltop fortress, and the main square anchored by the Renaissance-era Cathedral. Explore the island's scenery by walking, kayaking, cycling, hiking, or renting a scooter. Enjoy a drink in the ancient piazza of Hvar, overlooking the Venetian loggia and fortification walls. Overnight in Hvar.

DAY 5

Blue and Green Caves: Full-Day Speedboat Tour from Hvar, Overnight Korčula

Set out on a full-day excursion on a speedboat off the coast of Hvar. The first stop is the Blue Cave, where the sunlight creates an ethereal silvery blue color. Continue to Stiniva Bay, where a pebble beach appears between high rocky cliffs. Next, visit the Green Cave for a swim, and then relax at Budikovac Island. On the way back to Hvar, stop at Palmižana on the Pakleni Islands. After the day trip, catch the evening ferry to Korčula. Overnight in Korčula.

DAY 6

Explore Korčula, Overnight Dubrovnik

After breakfast, enjoy a fun buggy trip around Korčula. Visit a viewpoint overlooking the town, swim at the sandy beach “Pržina” in Lumbarda, and tour the vineyards growing the famous “Grk” grape. Drive through the forest to the village of Žrnovo and visit a family estate to try local liqueurs and wines. In the afternoon, relax at the sandy beaches of Lumbarda and sample local Grk wine. In the evening, board the ferry to Dubrovnik and check into your hotel. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

DAY 7

Dubrovnik Sightseeing

In the morning, participate in a Game of Thrones walking tour. Visit filming locations in Dubrovnik Old Town, including The Pile Gate, Lovrijenac Fort (Red Keep), and the Battle of Blackwater site. Opt for a different sightseeing tour if you're not a GOT fan. You can also take an optional trip to Lokrum Island for a swim and explore its legends. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

DAY 8

Departure Dubrovnik

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and free time until your transfer to Dubrovnik airport. If you have spare time, consider buying unique souvenirs like arancini (candied orange peel), sugared almonds, or Konavle-style embroidered tablecloths. Safe travels!
