During the Roman rule in these areas, the most important roads from Northern Italy bypassed the area of today's Gorski Kotar from both the North and South.

Next, meet the last local coachman in Fužine and enjoy a leisurely horse-drawn carriage ride around Lake Bajer. The coachman will stop at a mountain spring, where you can fill your bottle with mineral-rich water.
For lunch, savor the unique flavor of frog legs in Lokve, a local delicacy born from historical necessity. Visit a craft shop that produces local brandies and liqueurs, perfect complements to your meal.
Return to your guest house for a restful evening.
After a nourishing breakfast, gear up for a day of hiking. Comfortable shoes and layered clothing are essential as you'll traverse the shaded trails of Zeleni Vir and Vražji Prolaz, Gorski Kotar's most stunning natural attractions. The canyon’s narrow, 800-meter path is flanked by rich forest and striking rock formations.
Your hike will be rewarded with a hot meal and cold beer, a customary treat for hikers in the region.
Back at the guest house, unwind in the infrared sauna and hydromassage pool to soothe any sore muscles and ensure a good night's sleep.
