The adventure week starts near the Krka National Park, continues via energetic waters of the Zrmanja river and goes up the mighty Velebit mountain. You’ll be engaged in biking, hiking, kayaking and other side activities. You will feel full of energy after spending time surrounded by pristine nature and exploring authentic local cuisine.

The prestigious National Geographic Traveller included the Via Dinarica Trail amongst world's best destinations. The Via Dinarica is a mega-mountaineering and hiking trail, connecting natural and cultural sights in the Dinarids.

Biking tour includes a visit to the Skradinski buk waterfall. It is the longest waterfall on the Krka River and one of the best-known natural beauties of Croatia. Its cascades are composed of travertine barriers, islands, and lakes. They can be viewed throughout the entire year thanks to a network of paths and bridges that enable comfortable and safe walking.

Have you tried Stand Up Paddling yet? Everyone can do it and it is a fun activity for calm and relaxing days. If you want more out of it, warm up and grab the paddle. It is a full body workout and you will feel great after a SUP session.

Day-by-day itinerary

DAY 1

The Milky Way

Start your journey at a charming agricultural estate where friendly hosts will guide you to your authentic Dalmatian-style rooms. Surrounded by stone-built houses, a traditional Dalmatian tavern, and vivid gardens, you'll immediately feel immersed in local culture. For dinner, your hosts can help you book a table at one of the village's restaurants. If you arrive on a Monday, enjoy a traditional three-course dinner made with homemade ingredients for just 25 euros per person. As you retire for the night, take advantage of the village's lack of light pollution to count the stars for a peaceful sleep.

DAY 2

The Sound of the Bike Chain

Begin your day with a power breakfast before heading to Krka National Park, just 20 minutes away, for an exciting biking trip. In the town of Skradin, meet your tour guide for a short introduction and safety briefing before entering the park on a bike. Enjoy visiting Visovac Island and the Franciscan Monastery, swimming at the beach, and viewing the stunning Skradinski buk waterfall. Return to Skradin in the afternoon, and after a thrilling day, relax at the agricultural estate, which has won TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence, ensuring a comfortable night's rest.

DAY 3

I Believe I Can Fly

Embrace the laid-back Dalmatian lifestyle with a relaxed morning. After breakfast, prepare for a visit to the nearby falconry center, just a 20-minute drive away. The guided tour offers an educational and entertaining experience, where you can learn about hawks, eagles, owls, and other birds. The center also functions as a veterinary station for injured birds, with a dedicated team of experts preserving various bird species. Return to the estate in the afternoon to relax by the pool and prepare for dinner. Enjoy your final overnight stay at the estate.

DAY 4

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

After an early breakfast and check-out, prepare for an exciting kayaking adventure on the Zrmanja River, a 90-minute drive away. Your professional guide will provide a safety briefing before you embark on this thrilling journey. The Zrmanja River, known for its crystal-clear warm water and stunning canyon, promises an adrenaline rush. Equipped with life jackets and helmets, you'll have opportunities to swim around the waterfalls. After the adventure, a transfer will take you back to your car. Continue to Starigrad, where you will stay for the next two nights.

DAY 5

Carpe Diem

Start your day with a relaxing activity such as stand-up paddling, or simply soak up the sun at the beach. In the afternoon, hike to Starigrad mirila and the Veliki Vitrenik peak. The mirila, or measurement stones, are unique stone monuments along the mountain paths of Mt. Velebit. These sites offer a glimpse into local traditions, including the ethnography museum in Marasovići. End the day with a visit to the small museum to learn more about the Velebit region's customs and culture. Overnight in the Starigrad area.

DAY 6

Stop and Take a Deep Breath

Enjoy a hearty breakfast, pick up snacks, and head to Paklenica National Park. Drive to the entrance and park your car, preparing for a two-hour hike to the mountain lodge at the beginning of the Velika Paklenica canyon. The lodge, a cool retreat during summer, will be your base for the next two days. After checking in, enjoy dinner and a peaceful night.

DAY 7

Explore a Gem Hidden in the Mountain

Wake up to fresh mountain air and enjoy breakfast before exploring the Via Dinarica trails. Recognized by National Geographic Traveler as one of the best destinations in 2017, these trails connect the Balkan countries and offer spectacular natural beauty. Choose one of the many marked hiking trails in Paklenica, ranging from tourist to hiking trails, leading to Velebit Mountain's highest peaks. Along the way, appreciate the pristine nature and wildlife. Return to the mountain lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8

Go Underground or Go Home

After breakfast, check out and begin your descent. If you haven't yet, visit Manita Peć cave, situated at 500 m.a.s.l. This karst cave, rich in dripstones and underground fauna, features large underground halls, with the largest being 65 m long and 32 m high. Spend about 30 minutes in the cave with a guide, and remember to bring warm clothing as the temperature is around 9°C year-round. Conclude your adventure feeling enriched by the natural wonders and cultural experiences of this unique journey.
